Common tasks

Camera is unavailable

Open iOS Settings, find ScanMind, and allow Camera access. You can still import a selected photo or PDF without the camera.

Recognition did not finish

The saved original remains available. Open the item and choose Retry recognition or Analyze recognized text.

Restore a purchase

Open ScanMind Settings, go to ScanMind Pro, and choose Restore Purchase using the Apple Account that made the purchase.

Recover a deleted document

Open Library and Recently Deleted. Documents can be restored for 30 days unless they were permanently deleted sooner.

Back up everything

Use Export all data in Settings. The ZIP contains originals, OCR text, fields, metadata, and SHA-256 checksums.

Improve a scan

Use even light, keep the camera parallel, leave a clear border around the page, and review the detected edge before filing.

Is iCloud required?

No. Optional iCloud Drive sync is off by default. When enabled by a Pro user, ScanMind stores a private copy in that user's own iCloud Drive and resolves document conflicts using the newer modification time.

Does ScanMind upload documents for OCR?

No. The current version uses Apple's on-device frameworks for OCR, classification, and field extraction. Documents leave the app only through explicit export, sharing, or optional iCloud Drive sync.
