Data processing

• Scans, imported images, PDFs, recognized text, and extracted fields are stored in the app's private container on the user's device by default.
• Text recognition, document classification, and current field extraction use Apple's on-device frameworks.
• ScanMind does not create user accounts, use advertising SDKs, track users across apps, or sell personal data.
• Document content is not uploaded to provide core scanning, recognition, search, or export features.

Optional iCloud Drive sync

iCloud sync is off by default and runs only after the user enables it. When enabled, a copy is stored in the user's own iCloud Drive. Disabling sync stops new sync operations. Apple's iCloud terms and account settings also apply to those copies.

System permissions

ScanMind requests Camera, Photos, Contacts, Reminders, or Face ID / Touch ID access only when the user invokes the corresponding feature. Contacts and reminders are written only after the user confirms the action.

Purchases

The one-time Pro purchase is processed by Apple StoreKit. ScanMind reads Apple-verified purchase entitlements and does not store full payment-card details.

Retention and deletion

Deleted documents remain in Recently Deleted for 30 days and can be restored during that period. Permanent deletion removes the local database record and associated files. If iCloud sync is enabled, the next successful sync also removes that document from the current iCloud sync set. Full local export is not gated by Pro.

Exports and sharing

When a user exports, shares, or saves a file to another location, that copy is controlled by the selected destination and its privacy practices. Device backups can also include app data according to the user's Apple settings.
